Wilco “Pay What You Wish, Silent Auction, Random Lottery Ticketing Thing”

The Massachusetts Contemporary Art Museum (MASS MoCA) is hosting Jeff Tweedy and Wilco for a benefit concert this summer, with an intimate capacity of 1,000 persons. In an attempt to make it fair and fun for fans, the museum and concert promoter Alex Crothers have created a unique way to distribute tickets.

Joseph Thompson, Director of MASS MoCA says, “It’s an experiment, which we hope proves to be more civilized, more fair, and more fun than the standard mode of ticket sales, and we hope it

The rumors were pretty accurate, and as I awaited the official announcement, I couldn’t help thinking a lineup w/ Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, The Black Keys and Jack White just be asking for too much. But I was dead wrong.

Last year saw great response from the dance acts such as Skrillex and Deadmau5. This year, two electronic acts will headline a main stage, a first for Lollapalooza w/ Avicii and Justice. At The Drive-In will bring the reunion to Chicago, but it’s too bad Refused

Sched.org’s SXSW 2012 Report Card [Infographic]

Sched.org made a buzz at SXSW this year, with 25,000 people logged in throughout the festival. Users can create personalized schedules and share them with friends easily. The app featured 8,375 Official and Unofficial SXSW listings, covering 10,652 hours entertainment. They found the audience was predominantly male, 31 years old, single and homeowners with an income of 80k.

360 Deals – A Lifeline For The Music Industry? [Infographic]

The decline of album sales forced record labels to re-evaluate their agreements with artists. The 360 deal was developed so labels can capitalize from the multiple revenue streams an artist has in addition to selling records (touring, merchandising, licensing, etc).
